My name is Yeshe Phuntsok. I am from Dzuktrun, Darlag County, Golok. When I was four years old, my mother passed away. After this, my kind father took care of me, and I grew up taking care of our yaks from season to season. I spent some years like this, just working and being carefree. However, then I realized how precious time is, and realized that it would be beneficial if I got an education. Then with the help of my uncle, I entered Sengdruk Taktse School. After I came to school, I began studying very hard every day. I realized that studying is beneficial both for this life, and the next life. Now I am sixteen years old and I see knowledge as an ocean of milk, I am like a duck, only drinking the milk (Tibetans say that ducks can separate milk from water unlike any other animal). I received awards for my studies in fourth and fifth grade. I like to receive awards. My desire is to go through school and complete every grade like the wind. In the future I would like to be a monk and help my school and the monastery of my hometown. My wish is to plant firmly the banner of Buddha's teachings on the highest point of this earth.
