My name is Tubten Norbu. I am from Ozer, Darlag County, Golok. When I was three years old, my father suddenly became ill and passed away. Ten years later, while my mother was milking our Dri (female yak) and singing a song, I looked out towards a high hill and saw some boys looking after their yaks. The boys were singing as they looked after their yaks, but what I heard was cries of suffering. If we want to be truly happy, we need an education. I had the thought that education is the unmistaken path. So in 1999, I requested by myself that I be able to attend Sengdruk Taktse School. In 2004 I received the award for being one of the three best students. I continue to make progress in my studies.
