Tibetan Elders
Near Sengdruk Taktse School is a home for elderly Tibetans who no longer have any family to take care of them, it is called “Dechen Pema Choling” which can be translated as “Dharma Land of Great Bliss Lotus”. These elderly Tibetans have been through a lot over the course of their lives. In their old age, they can no longer take care of themselves and need assistance in order to live without great hardships. Many of these elderly Tibetans were nomads in their younger years, but their physical condition no longer allows them to work as nomads. In addition, there are some elderly Tibetans here who have no use of their legs. These elderly Tibetans now have the opportunity to live the last years of their lives practicing meditation and prayer, which is their wish. They also receive teachings from many visiting Buddhist teachers. Through the Joru Foundation you can view the photo of any of these elderly Tibetans and sponsor them through Paypal. Your monthly contribution of $15 will help provide for food, shelter, clothing, and other basic needs. You can also make a donation of any amount below.Your help is greatly appreciated.
