Similar to the other first graders from Sangruma, Trinley Dorje and his brother Sonam Dargye were greatly affected by the severe cold weather and snow of 2007. However, unlike some of the other children from Sangruma, their family completely lost all of their livestock without any remainder. This forced them into begging for food and clothing. Thus, they were accepted at Sengdruk Taktse School.
