Tenzin Gyamtso is from Sangruma, Darlag County, Golok. He was born into a wealthy family, however when he was young, his parents were faced with some unfortunate obstacles and passed away. After this, he went to live with his aunt who provided food and clothing for him, but after some time she became very poor.
