In 2011, with the help of Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, WA, the Joru Foundation was able to help facilitate bringing two graduates of Sengdruk Taktse School to the USA to study.
The two students were Jigme Dawa and Jigme Tubtrel, who were both two of the best and brightest students among the first graduating class of Sengdruk Taktse School.
After completing their ESL program at Spokane Falls Community College, these two hard working students were able to transfer to Whitworth University, and ultimately both obtain their Bachelor Degrees, not to mention gaining fluidity in the English language in a very short period of time! Their accomplishments in the USA were nothing short of miraculous.
Both students chose to study in the US to broaden their scope of knowledge and to also gain the tools they need to give back to their community. Both students have now returned to Golok, Qinghai and are continuing to devote their lives to helping and serving others. There is no doubt that these two will continue with their amazing achievements.
The next goal of the Joru Foundation is to try to bring two female students to study in the US. We will keep you posted on this as it evolves.
