Do-ngak Gyamtso is from Taktog, Darlag County, Golok. He grew up under the care of his two parents. When he was thirteen his father passed away, leaving him with only his mother. His mother cared for him until he was 14 at which time she asked if he could attend Sengdruk Taktse School, where he is now a student. He excels in his studies of the Chinese language.
